BACKGROUND INFORMATION ABOUT “PUNITIVE ACTION”

Around this time of year lots of interesting MSM articles appear about D Day. One such article appeared in the local MSM today.

In the article it makes mention of some of the exploits carried out by the Royal Ulster Rifles during the Normandy campaign.

Some months ago I posted an article telling of some of the exploits of the Royal Ulster Rifles while they were stationed in “Palestine” during the British Mandate.

I told of how they were ordered to take punitive action against Arab terrorists. Subsequently, they rounded up 50 Arab terrorists put them on a bus, then blew the bus up.

Alas, I did not post the source of the information, so I am going to post it here while I remember.

The information can be found in a book titled, “Britain`s Pacification Of Palestine”: by Matthew Hughes.

The information about the bus bombing is found on pages 331 and 332, it may be possible to access these pages online.

The Bible has a quaint way of describing skilled warriors, they are called “Mighty men of valour.”

Below is just one example.

1 Chronicles 12:21 “And they helped David against the band of the rovers: for they were all mighty men of valour, and were captains in the host.”
