I WILL NOT FAIL THEE, NOR FORSAKE THEE

My car`s music player suddenly went into random play mode this afternoon, and it played “Take my hand precious Lord” quite unexpectedly.

It is a Gospel song I have not heard for a while.

When I heard the music I was struck by the thought, you never hear of the late Jim Reeves being mentioned nowadays?

I am very sceptical about the claims he was a “Christian” which some people make, though I would agree that he was a good singer.

Initially I intended to upload one of the versions already on the internet on this article, but after watching a few of them, decided against it. They spoil the music by including loony pictures of “crosses” and loony pictures of what they think the Lord Jesus Christ looked like??

Most people mistakenly think he looked like some sort of deranged “Hippy.”

Discovered a good version of “The lily of the valley.”

It is amazing the number of times “I will not fail thee, or forsake thee,” or words to that effect are stated in the Bible.

The promise God gave to Joshua is the promise he extends to all true believers.

Joshua 1:5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Hebrews 13:5-6 [Let your] conversation [be] without covetousness; [and be] content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
