THE DAY ENGLAND WON THE WORLD CUP

Fascinating news snippets about the day in 1966, when England won the World Cup.

I can remember that day pretty clearly.  In the morning my parents took me to meet my uncle arriving from Canada. He was returning back to Belfast to reside permanently, I think he may have taken early retirement.

All my uncles, aunts and cousins were at the old Aldergrove airport to greet him.

He had left N.Ireland in the early 1920s, to go to Canada. He then returned for the first time during WW2 when he was a soldier in the Canadian army.

After the war he returned to Canada, then came back to the old Klondyke street in the Shankill to live for good, the very same day England won the World Cup!

I can remember Chris Farlowe as well!

SOMME CENTENARY PARADE & RE-ENACTMENT

DVD`s of the Somme Centenary Parade & Re-Enactment are now available. A friend told me the first issue of the DVD`s sold out very quickly but there is now a new issue available.

SAVE HANK

Just signed the petition to save the little dog.

What I find most disturbing about this present scenario is the fact that the dog`s owners are not even allowed to see him!

There are no council or government agencies in N.Ireland which can be trusted, so goodness knows how they are actually treating the little dog!

It is a pity the UK authorities do not take as fast action when investigating VIP paedo rings as they do when taking action against a young dog?

In the picture above, which is snipped from the UTV report, Hank looks very like my dog, only my dog`s ears are bigger.

My dog is called Caleb Weimaraner. You can see him in the video below, the audio is by courtesy of the late James Young.

I also came across this lovely Weimaraner on the beach at Douglas IOM about a year and a half ago. His name was Jake.

THE DIRTY WAR

Was talking to a friend the other day and the subject of “The Dirty War” was mentioned.

There is a basic truth about “Dirty Wars” which people should realise.

If people want to fight “Dirty Wars” they should be aware, that people who are from  “Scots-Irish” or “Ulster-Scots” descent are the very best, when it comes to fighting “Dirty Wars.”

My Father`s name was Flanagan, and my mothers maiden name was Menabney.

Are Chess players taking over the UK?

It turns out yer woman Eagle is a chess player.

INDEPENDENCE DAY IS A PROTESTANT DAY

Happy IDEPENDENCE day to the citizens of the USA.  It ought to be stressed that it was Protestantism which brought about Independence for the USA.

Fourth of July Independence day is a Protestant day, therefore it ought to be a bank holiday in N.Ireland so we can celebrate God`s grace in his dealing with the American peoples.

It is a surprise the “Unionist” parties have never proposed this motion in the Assembly before now. How could anyone possibly object to the proposal?
