CARL AND JACKIE

After Carl`s performance last night I had to re-make an earlier video clip. Here it is below, Carl and Jackie Wilson.

It is a mixture of the two video clips below.

The second one reminds me of the night I went over to the Odyssey and found out when I got to the door I had the wrong ticket!! They would not let me in, I had to get a taxi back home and find the right ticket, then run back to the Odyssey!!

Here is a short video from inside the Odyssey last night, the battery of my video recorder ran out so I did manage to get any of Carl entering the arena.

PUTTING THINGS INTO EVEN MORE PERSPECTIVE

When I initiated the North Belfast Chess project I sent messages to all the political parties I could think of. Guess what?

None of them even replied, what is worse, they did not even acknowledge my message!!!

If the so-called “Political parties” cannot do something so simple as establish a mere “Chess Club” it stands to reason they are not capable of governing N.Ireland, are they?

You have to laugh at them all running round trying to get votes!!!

I will tell you what, if I had got in touch with Gerry Kelly and asked him for help, a North Belfast Chess Club would be up and running, or would be well on way to be up and running by now!!!!!

Just think, Gerry and the gang have got all the Northern Bank loot to launder, and they have some sort of “Invisible process” running to maintain confidence in the “Peace Process.” So it says in today`s Irish News anyway.

PUTTING THINGS INTO PERSPECTIVE

This is an update to my “Volunteers wanted for a chess project.”

Last week a news story emerged which illustrates just how much money is available to fund various projects.

The MP for North Belfast who is known affectionately by the Paisley family as, “The cheeky sod,” managed to play a leading role in engineering £3.9 million for various sporting activities in the North Belfast/Newtownabbey area.

Providing a mere, measly £1 million for the provision of a North Belfast Chess club ought to be no problem for Nigel and his party.

Of course we ought to be aware that we are now in election time and “the cheeky sod`s” wife, needs all the vote and good publicity she can get.

I must now inform the DUP about this latest article.

VOLUNTEERS WANTED FOR A NEW “CHESS ENTERPRISE”

This is an educational, recreational, cultural and re-imaging project. The video below is a possible promotional video for the enterprise.

One of the main purposes of this planned endeavour is to encourage NON Chess players to become Chess Players, then encourage them to become COMPETITIVE Chess players.

People of all Chess playing abilities will be welcome.

Remember, when you learn to play Chess you are not just learning to play a game/sport or a science, you are learning a widely accepted International Language!

Joe Farrell RUR

Joe Farrell was well-known in boxing circles and very well known in N.Belfast for running the White City and Midland Boxing Clubs. A Boxing club has been established as a Memorial to him.

Stumbled across this lovely football shirt on the Umbro.com site. I initially assumed it was a Canada shirt, however it turned out to be the the shirt of a Uruguayan club.
