Carl Frampton has posted a great picture of Billy McKee and himself on his Twitter feed.
The video clip below shows Billy McKee and Carl`s father helping to run the most intellectually advanced boxing club in the world.
There is an interesting story behind that video clip.
The late David Aumonier asked me to get him two tickets for Carl`s last fight at the SSE Arena.
Then David could not go so he wanted to see if the tickets could be resold.
That is the reason why I was in the Midland Boxing Club that particular night. Carl`s father did manage to get the tickets resold and it was a female hairdresser who bought them.
It will be the hardest fight of his career so far!

His opponent and nemesis will be TIM McGARRY aka “DA.”
Once Carl sees McGarry`s tweet, nothing will stop him calling out McGarry for a showdown in Belfast.
Mr Tim “DA” McGarry has declared, Carl is a champion of the word and currently one of the top 20 fighters in North Belfast!
Earlier today a friend and my self were talking about John Healy and The Grass Arena.
The Grass Arena was a highly acclaimed book written by a reformed alcoholic.
The film version of the book is available online.
The description given on the You tube video pretty much sums the whole thing up.
The Grass Arena is the true story of John Healy. Raised in an ultra religious family, with an abusive father, young Johnny soon learns that he has to learn to defend himself. He takes up boxing, but soon falls victim to alcoholism. His boxing career over, John takes to the Grass Arena (the park) where he lives with other alcoholics.
In 2013 a documentary was made bringing John Healy`s story up to date. The documentary was called “Barbaric Genius.”
All in all, it is a very grim reminder about the danger of alcohol.

Both VBC and UTV constantly bombard the local population with NIO propaganda as how to behave in order to showcase N. Ireland in a good light to the rest of the world.

Within the last few weeks I have had cause to remember a poem I read many, many years ago. A book I read told of some character in the USA who had been shot dead and the poem was found in his pocket.
The version from the book is below.
“The clock of life is wound but once,
And no man has the power
To tell just when the hands will stop
At late or early hour.
NOW is the only time you have,
So live, love, toil at will,
Place no faith in “TIME,”
For the Clock may soon be still.”
This was long before the internet was ever thought of so it was impossible to find out who had originally written this poem. Nowadays with the internet it is possible to locate the source and when you do you find there is a longer version of the poem. The whole thing is below.
