The Death of Death in the Death of Christ by John Owen

Controversy of the theological kind is being reported in the Congregational denomination in Ballynahinch. I did read one report which suggested the controversy has something to do with the present minister trying to introduce Calvinism into the local congregation.
You would suspect that the historical debating point of the death of Christ plays a central role in the situation. It is a very well known theological point which was settled centuries ago. It can be summarised very simply. There is the proposition, which is below.
Who did the Lord Jesus Christ die for?
Now you have three options, all you have to do is choose the correct one?
1 Did the Lord Jesus Christ die for ALL the sins of ALL men?
2 Did the Lord Jesus Christ die for SOME of the sins of ALL men?
3 Did the Lord Jesus Christ die for ALL of the sins of SOME men?
It is very easy to find the right answer, however it tends to upset lots of people!!! lol lol lol lol Especially apostates and reprobates.
