During Saturday`s events at Seaview a very dangerous dog attack occurred. This highlights one of the PSNI actions which has been used on quite a number of occasions to attack and intimidate protesters and innocent by-standers. There were many instances of police dogs being used in East Belfast when the PSNI were causing mayhem in that area.
It now seems the police are trying to inflame the situation in N.Belfast with the same tactics. If my dog did that to someone, the authorities would make sure it was put down asap.
The police now face a very big problem, lots of people where in the vicinity taking pictures and using video cameras, there are lots of witnesses who can provide evidence to the Ombudsman`s Office. It is reported 3 people were arrested and charged. However there seems to be lots of pictures of the arrests so it looks highly unlikely the DPP will proceed with prosecutions.
It looks like Baggot`s theory about the repercussions of taking robust action against protesters was proved correct on Saturday. When the police took action against the reasonably small number of protesters it seemed to bring lots more people onto the scene to support the hapless protesters. Fortunately the situation did not get as bad as it may have, though who knows what can happen in the incoming weeks?
Maybe this is the reason the peelers are so spooked? The Belfast Lundyletter is now covering the Whinging Willie story. Cannot really understand what is all the fuss of the football match being called off?? What is the big deal? It will just be re-played on another date.
Plus, the whole thing could have been avoided if the Cliftonville supporters had availed themselves of the buses which Crusaders kindly provided??
Habbakuk 2:7 Shall they not rise up suddenly that shall bite thee, and awake that shall vex thee, and thou shalt be for booties unto them?
